The seminar and workshop activities will last for 3 days (4-6 December 2024) starting with a seminar filled by international and national speakers, with a focus on the application of advanced imaging technology in material and life science research. This seminar presented eight renowned speakers from various institutions, including Chatnapa Jam Intanont (Thermo Fisher Scientific), Fitria Dwi Ayuningtyas, Ph.D. (Scientific Imaging Center), Dr. Toto Sudiro (National Innovation Research Agency), Prof. Dr. Tjokorda Gde Tirta Nindhia (Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University), Prof. Dr. Anggraini Barlian, M.Sc. (School of Life Sciences and Technology - Bandung Institute of Technology), Prof. Gusti Ngurah Mahardika (Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Udayana University), Dr. drg. (Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University), Prof. Dr. Ir. I Gede Putu Wirawan (Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University) with moderators such as Prof. Dr. Ir. I Nyoman Rai, M.S. (Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University), and Dr. rer. nat. Ni Putu Ariantari, S.Farm., M.Farm. (Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences - Pharmacy, Udayana University). Meanwhile, participants attending this event consisted of academics, researchers, students, and practitioners from various institutions in the Bali region and eastern Indonesia.
The topics discussed included the application and techniques of Confocal Laser Scanning Microscopy and Electron Microscopy research tools which are advanced microscope equipment. Not only for biomaterial and biotechnology research but also for renewable material research, geology, advanced physics, and many more. In addition to the presentation of research developments and technological developments, this seminar is also expected to increase the motivation of researchers (academics) in achieving journals to the international level in order to advance the quality of research in Indonesia, one of the publication requirements of international journals is generally the presence of sample imaging data (Imaging) using microscopy technology.
This collaboration shows a strong synergy between the Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University and PT. Wadya Prima Mulia in encouraging technological innovation for the advancement of science. After the seminar, the event will continue with a workshop on the use of various types of microscopy instruments (optical microscopes to electron microscopes) which will take place in the Postgraduate Hall of Udayana University, Denpasar, and will end with an intensive educational tour in the Bali area.
