To Realize Collaboration, Udayana University and the Indonesian Quarantine Agency Sign a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation Agreement
Denpasar - At the Postgraduate Hall of Udayana University, Sudirman Campus, Denpasar, on Friday, January 22, 2026, Udayana University and the Indonesian Quarantine Agency committed to implementing a collaboration marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The event was attended by Udayana University Rector, Prof. Ir. Ketut Sudarsana, S.T., Ph.D., along with the Vice Rector for Student Affairs and the Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation, and Information.
On this occasion, Unud Rector, Prof. I Ketut Sudarsana, stated that the signing of the memorandum of understanding is a strategic activity, demonstrating a commitment to maintaining the country's non-military defense system, such as maintaining the health of plants, animals, and fish, particularly in exports. The signing of this memorandum of understanding marks the beginning of an opportunity for collaboration between lecturers and students with the Quarantine Agency, impacting the community and providing applicable knowledge that is sensitive to global challenges.
The Head of the Indonesian Quarantine Agency, Dr. Sahat Manaor Panggabean, stated in his remarks that quarantine currently poses a major challenge in protecting the country from the entry of pests and diseases from outside Indonesia. It is hoped that the Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation Agreement with Udayana University will foster further synergy with researchers and experts from Udayana University, particularly in preventing pests and diseases from entering Bali.
The Head of the Human Resources Development Center of the Indonesian Quarantine Agency, in his report, stated that the synergy between the Quarantine Agency and Udayana University is evidenced by the presence of 88 alumni from Udayana University serving at the Indonesian Quarantine Agency, including undergraduate, master's, and doctoral graduates. This commitment will open up opportunities for synergy through collaborative activities between lecturers and students.
Simultaneously with the signing of the MoU between Udayana University and the Indonesian Quarantine Agency, a Cooperation Agreement was also signed between the Indonesian Quarantine Agency and the Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University. The scope of the collaboration will include research, community service, human resource support, utilization of facilities and infrastructure, and collaboration on internships or field work practices for Faculty of Agriculture students.
