The Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University (UNS) and the Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University (FP Unud) Host the 12th International Conference on Agriculture and Environment (ICSAE-XII) 2025
Badung - Taking place at the Sinta Ballroom, Grand Istana Rama Hotel, Kuta, the Faculty of Agriculture, Sebelas Maret University (UNS), in collaboration with the Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University (FP Unud), will host the 12th International Conference on Agriculture and Environment (ICSAE-XII) on October 9-10, 2025. This event is an annual event held by the UNS Faculty of Agriculture. This year's event, in collaboration with the Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University, was well-received.
This international conference was attended by four countries: India, China, the United Kingdom, and Indonesia, the host. ICSAE-XII focused on three broad areas: agricultural systems, climate change and the environment, and the role of policy and politics in shaping sustainable solutions. In his remarks, which also opened the event, the Rector of Udayana University, represented by the Vice Rector for Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Gusti Ngurah Alit Susanta Wirya, S.P., M.Agr., expressed his appreciation for the collaborative efforts in organizing this international conference and expressed his hope that it would be productive, dynamic, and inspiring, filled with fruitful discussions, innovative ideas, and meaningful collaboration. Wirya stated that sustainability is not just a concept but the foundation of modern agricultural and environmental management. To ensure global food security while conserving natural resources, we must implement an integrated approach that balances productivity with ecological integrity. Sustainable agriculture emphasizes practices that maintain soil fertility, optimize water use, conserve biodiversity, and minimize environmental impact. In other words, sustainable agriculture is about producing enough for today, without sacrificing future needs. Wirya further stated that, on behalf of Udayana University and Sebelas Maret University, he expressed his deepest gratitude to the speakers, participants, and invited guests for their contributions and congratulated and commended the organizing committee for their dedication and extraordinary efforts in organizing this conference.
ICSAE-12 featured eight invited speakers: Prof. Sanjib Kumar Panda, Central University of Rajasthan, India; Prof. Longbiao Guo, China National Rice Research Institute, China; Dr. Zhenyu Gao, China National Rice Research Institute, China; Dr. Zhou Wenzong, Shanghai Academy of Agricultural Sciences, China; Dr. Guangheng Zhang, China National Rice Research Institute, China; Prof. Adrian Smith, University of Oxford, United Kingdom; Dr. Steve Fiddaman, The Pirbright Institute, United Kingdom, and I Putu Sudiarta, Ph.D. from Udayana University, Indonesia.
