Louis Sidharta Wins the Degree of Outstanding Student of FP Unud 2022

The Faculty of Agriculture, Udayanan University (FP Unud) held a selection of outstanding students (pilmapres) on Thursday (24/3) at Unud Campus, Jln. PB. Sudirman, Denpasar. The activity was attended by four students from three study programs within the FP Unud namely Agroecotechnology, Agribusiness, and Landscape Architecture Study Programs. Louis Sidharta, a student of landscape architecture, won the title of outstanding student at the event.

The Dean of FP Unud Prof. Dr. Ir. I Nyoman Gede Ustriyana, MM, who was present on the sidelines of the judging, expressed his pride in the enthusiasm of the students in participating in this activity. The four finalists who competed had fairly balanced academic and non-academic achievements. "The creative ideas presented in student writings are relatively good and according to the theme of the activity," said Prof. Ustriyana asked the jury to give an objective assessment so that the winners of the outstanding students of FP Unud were able to compete at the Unud level.

Deputy Dean III of FP Unud Dr. Ir. I Wayan Diara, M.S. added that Pilmapres is a prestigious competency for Unud FP students. The reason is that through the Pilmapres students can "show off" their academic and non-academic achievements while attending lectures at FP Unud. "Communication skills to convey innovative ideas/ideas and English language skills also receive a separate assessment portion," said the Academic from Br. Manuk, Susut, Bangli Regency.

Three lecturers of FP Unud were appointed as judges for the Pilmares FP Unud 2022, namely Dr. Gusti Ngurah Alit Susanta Wirya, S.P., M.Agr., Dr. I Made Bachelor, S.P., M.Sc., and Naniek Kohdrata, S.P., MLA.

Dr. Alit Susanta Wirya stated that the students were quite enthusiastic about participating in the presidential election. Participants collect various requirements including written works. "Indeed, the quality of the writing still needs to be improved, especially for the winners of the presidential election so that they can compete at the university level," said the Koprodi S3 Agricultural Biotechnology.

While the four finalists for the 2022 presidential election include two representatives of the Agribusiness Study Program, Ni Nyoman Ayu prapti Rahayu, Ni Wayan Mutia Dewi Artawati. The other two finalists were Louis Sidharta (Parking Architecture) and Fransisca Aprilia Wijayanti (Agro-ecotechnology). Louis Sidharta, who was designated as an outstanding student of FP Unud 2022, expressed his surprise at the predicate he achieved. The son of Rendi Sidharta from Bekasi, West Java, admitted that his preparation time was very tight. "I prepared it in a hurry, hopefully next year the preparations for the presidential election can be communicated earlier so that students who are interested in participating can prepare themselves better," he said. Sidharta admitted that his appointment as a deputy of the Unud FP in the Unud presidential election was a "tough" challenge. The reason is that the Unud FP representative in the Unud presidential election a few years earlier was very calculated. There was someone who had won the 3rd place title.
