Faculty of Agriculture Implements Udayana Mengabdi Program in Marga Village, Tabanan Regency
Tabanan - The Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University, implemented the Udayana Mengabdi Program (PUM) in Marga Dauh Puri Village, Marga District, Tabanan Regency. The activity, titled "Utilizing Citronella Oil to Control Rice Plant Pests," was made possible through a collaboration agreement between the Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University, and Marga District. The community service program, attended by the Head of Marga Village, the Pekaseh Subak Ole and Subak Sidang Rapuh, farmers in Subak Ole and Subak Sidang Rapuh, village officials, the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, who also served as a resource person, lecturers from the Faculty of Agriculture, and students from the 2025 Udayana University Community Service Program (KKN PPM), was held at the Wantilan Puputan Margarana on Thursday, August 14, 2025. The Implementation Arrangement between the Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University, and Marga Dauh Puri Village also took place.
The Head of Marga Dauh Puri Village, I Wayan Wiryanata, expressed his deep gratitude for the activities that have been held repeatedly in Marga District, especially in Marga Dauh Puri Village. He hopes that this collaboration will continue to be implemented in the future, so that synergy between universities and the community can continue.
The community response to this event was also very positive. From the arrival of participants to the brief training on making citronella oil-based pesticides, the community actively listened and followed the instructions from the Faculty of Agriculture lecturers. It is hoped that this botanical pesticide will help farmers in Marga Dauh Puri Village control pests, especially rice pests, and help increase rice productivity, which has declined recently.
