Kerta Village, Gianyar, the Second Foster Village of the Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University
Gianyar - A Cooperation Agreement was signed at the Payangan District Office in Gianyar Regency between the Faculty of Agriculture of Udayana University and the Payangan District, Gianyar Regency. The planned and soon-to-be-implemented collaboration will see Kerta Village, one of the villages in Payangan District, Gianyar Regency, become a Foster Village of the Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University, on Thursday, February 19, 2026.
I Putu Sudiarta, S.P., M.Si., Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, stated that the desire to make Kerta Village a Foster Village has long been in the making and has only now been realized. The mentoring program in Kerta Village will include the Tri Dharma of Higher Education: Education, Research, and Community Service. Agriculture is one of the sectors that the Governor of Bali wants to continue to improve so that each region in Bali Province can develop superior commodities and explore its potential, Sudiarta said. Therefore, this Fostered Village collaboration is considered highly suitable for implementation.
Payangan Sub-district Head, I Wayan Widana, S.STP, welcomed the collaboration that will be implemented in Kerta Village. He hopes that in the future, Kerta Village will not only be a Fostered Village under the Faculty of Agriculture but will also expand to other villages within the Payangan Sub-district. With the Fostered Village Program, it is hoped that villages in the Payangan area can develop superior commodities in their respective regions. Widana also hopes that assistance will not only be provided in the agricultural sector but also help realize a Tourism Village. Also present at the signing of the cooperation agreement was I Made Gunawan, S.P., S.H., M.Par., the Head of Kerta Village, who accompanied the Payangan Sub-district Head.
