Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB) of the Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University, 2025
Denpasar - The Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University, held its routine activities to welcome new students by holding the Introduction to Campus Activities for New Students (PKKMB). The event, held in the Nusantara Room, Agrokompleks Building, Udayana University, Denpasar, on Tuesday and Wednesday, August 19-20, 2025, was attended by 296 PKKMB participants. The opening ceremony, attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, vice deans, undergraduate study program coordinators, coordinators and sub-coordinators of the Faculty of Agriculture, faculty advisors from the Faculty of Agriculture Student Organization (OKFP), OKFP representatives, and the event committee, was a smooth and successful event. The PKKMB provided material on life at the university level, as well as providing new students with guidance on the transition from elementary to higher education, from "student" to "college student."
In his remarks, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture I Putu Sudiarta, SP., M.Si., Ph.D., stated that the agricultural sector is currently one of the main sectors in the government's main program, namely related to food security. This makes everyone involved in agriculture have a great opportunity to participate in advancing the agricultural sector in Indonesia. In his remarks, the dean also said that the new students of the class of 2025 are a generation that has a great opportunity in the development of the agricultural sector towards a better direction. As a generation that is included in Generation Z or Gen-Z, new students who are better known for being creative, critical and tech-savvy, have a very high level of compatibility with the challenges faced in the agricultural sector which not only arise in the issue of planting, but also related to smart farming, sustainability, and also digital innovation. In closing, life on campus also opens up the greatest opportunities for good collaboration between students, students with lecturers, and students with stakeholders.
