Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University Holds Workshop to Increase the Intellectual Property of Lecturers and Students

The Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University held a Workshop on Preparing a Draft Proposal for Intellectual Property to Increase the Acquisition of Intellectual Property at the Faculty of Agriculture on Thursday (9/11/2023) at the Postgraduate Hall, Floor 3, Sudirman Campus, Denpasar. This workshop was opened directly by the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture accompanied by Deputy Dean I and Deputy Dean II of the Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University.

Dr. Ir. Anak Agung Istri Kesumadewi, M.Si., as chairman of the committee, in his report said that this Intellectual Property workshop was the first to be held at the Faculty of Agriculture and was very important to remind university people that the creative works produced had the potential to be empowered and support the program. national creative economy based on Intellectual Property. "We prioritize this workshop to open the insight of lecturers and students and further motivate them to be more innovative in producing creative works, as well as facilitate efforts to obtain protection for these creative works," said Kesumadewi. This workshop was attended by 100 participants consisting of lecturers and students from the Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University.

Meanwhile, the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University, Dr. Gusti Ngurah Alit Susanta Wirya, SP., M.Agr., in his speech hoped that workshops could continue to be held every year with the aim of motivating lecturers and students to increase intellectual property at the Faculty of Agriculture. Furthermore, Susanta Wirya also said that intellectual property is a form of protection for research results, products and ideas of lecturers and students. The resource person presented in this workshop was Ir. Alex Rahman and Drs. Abdi Saputra Sembiring, M.Si (Directorate General of Intellectual Property), Dr. Pande Gde Sasmita Julyantoro, S.Si., M.Si (Chair of the Unud KI Center). The workshop, which will last for six days, will close on November 16 2023.
