Faculty of Agriculture Udayana University Holds OASE Distance Learning Training to Strengthen Digital Teaching Competencies

Denpasar, August 21, 2026 — The Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University, continues to strengthen the digital transformation of education by organizing a Distance Learning (PJJ) Training Program using the OASE (Online Academic Services for E-Learning) platform. Held on Friday, August 21, 2026, the training aimed to enhance lecturers’ competencies in managing learning activities through a Learning Management System (LMS) in an effective, systematic, and innovative manner.

The program began with participant registration, followed by welcoming remarks and the official opening by Vice Dean I of the Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University, Dr. Putu Udayani Wijayanti, S.P., M.Agb. The training was designed to provide participants with both conceptual understanding and practical skills in utilizing OASE features to support distance and digitally enhanced learning.

Optimizing OASE LMS for Digital Learning

OASE is the Learning Management System utilized by Udayana University to support online and technology-enhanced learning activities. During the training, participants were introduced to various aspects of course management, including creating courses through SIMAK-NG, accessing the OASE platform, updating course information, preparing course descriptions, and developing weekly learning topics.

The training also demonstrated how lecturers can integrate a wide range of learning resources, including PDF documents, presentations, videos, and other multimedia materials, into virtual classrooms. A well-organized course structure enables students to access learning materials more easily while supporting a more flexible, systematic, and engaging learning process.

Strengthening Class Management, Learning Content, and Assignments

The first session, entitled “Class Management, Content, and Assignment,” was delivered by Ni Wayan Febriana Utami, S.P., M.Si., Ph.D., with Putu Oki Bimantara, S.P., M.Agr. serving as moderator.

Participants received practical guidance on managing virtual classrooms through OASE, organizing learning content, developing weekly topics, and adding various learning activities and resources. The session also introduced procedures for uploading the Semester Learning Plan (Rencana Pembelajaran Semester or RPS) as an essential component of course information.

Systematic content management is a key element of effective digital learning, as it allows students to access learning resources in an organized manner according to the topics, learning outcomes, and stages of instruction designed by lecturers.

Enhancing Digital Assessment through Grading and Quiz Features

The second session, entitled “Grading, Quiz, and Grade Export,” was delivered by Ayi Priyana, S.P., M.Sc., with Putu Oki Bimantara, S.P., M.Agr. again serving as moderator.

This session strengthened participants’ understanding of the assessment features available within OASE, particularly grade management, quiz development, and grade export. Participants were introduced to practical approaches for designing and administering digital assessments more systematically and efficiently.

The effective use of these features is expected to assist lecturers in managing student assessments, documenting academic performance, and providing a more organized and transparent evaluation process within the digital learning environment.

Supporting Digital Transformation in Agricultural Education

The OASE Distance Learning Training represents one of the Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University’s initiatives to strengthen academic capacity in response to the rapid development of educational technology. Effective LMS utilization requires not only technical proficiency but also lecturers’ ability to design structured, flexible, interactive, and student-centered learning experiences.

Through this training, lecturers are expected to further optimize OASE for course management, the delivery of learning resources, assignment administration, digital assessment, and student grade management.

The program also included an interactive discussion session, providing participants with opportunities to deepen their understanding, share experiences, and address technical challenges related to the implementation of learning activities through the OASE platform.

The program concluded with the presentation of certificates to the speakers by the Coordinator of UP3M, Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University, Prof. Dr. Ir. I Made Trigunasih, M.P., accompanied by the LP3M team.

Through this initiative, the Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University, reaffirms its commitment to strengthening digital learning, enhancing lecturers’ competencies, and expanding the effective use of information technology in higher education. The program is expected to contribute to the development of a more effective, innovative, adaptive, and student-centered learning environment in response to the evolving demands of digital education.
