International Seminar: Increases Research Collaboration to Support Sustainable Agriculture
Denpasar - The Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University, held an international seminar with the theme "Increases Research Collaboration to Support Sustainable Agriculture" on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at the Postgraduate Hall, 3rd Floor, Graduate Building, Udayana University, Denpasar. This seminar was part of the 58th anniversary celebrations of the Faculty of Agriculture and the 47th Anniversary of the Faculty of Agriculture and the Faculty of Agriculture. It was part of the collaboration between the Faculty of Agriculture and Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), PT Mondelez Indonesia Trading, and Astungkara Way. The event was attended by lecturers and students from the Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University.
The seminar featured five speakers, experts in their respective fields. The five speakers were Dr. Norsazilawati Saad (UPM), an expert in Virology, who presented the topic "Exploring Viruses Infecting Vegetable Crops in Malaysia Through Viral Metagenomics"; Dr. Sumaiyah Abdullah (UPM), an expert in mushroom technology, presented the topic "Circular Agriculture: Unlocking the Potential of Spent Mushroom Substrate in Malaysia"; Dr. Hakiman Mansor (UPM), an expert in tissue culture, presented the topic "Micropropagation and in vitro secondary metabolite production"; Tanguy Yu from Astungkara Way presented on Ecosystem Restoration, and Sisko Budianto, S.P., M.P. from PT Mondelez Indonesia Trading presented on Biopesticides.
In his remarks, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, I Putu Sudiarta, S.P., M.Si., Ph.D., stated that this seminar provided a strategic opportunity to exchange knowledge, strengthen networks, and build research synergies, which are increasingly important in the era of climate change and global challenges to food security. "Sudiarta believes that international research collaboration is key to accelerating innovation and the implementation of appropriate technology to achieve sustainable, productive, and environmentally friendly agriculture," Sudiarta said. On this occasion, the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University, also delivered a presentation on "Sustainable Agriculture in Udayana University Bali, Indonesia." Sudiarta encouraged all seminar participants to actively participate in each discussion session and exchange ideas, ensuring that the seminar serves not only as a presentation platform but also as a platform for collaboration and concrete action for a greener and more sustainable agricultural future.
