Improving the Quality of Practical Learning, Faculty of Agriculture Unud Holds the Final Session for the Preparation and Review of 2026 Practicum Modules

As part of its continuous efforts to improve academic quality and standardize practical learning, the Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University, held the final session for the preparation and review of practicum modules on Monday, May 25, 2026. The activity, which took place within Udayana University, served as a crucial phase in a program that had been initiated during its opening session on May 13, 2026.

After nearly two weeks of intensive preparation within each study program, the agenda focused on reviewing and refreshing participants’ understanding of the types, standards, and implementation of practicum modules at Udayana University. This initiative was carried out to ensure that all practicum materials remain highly relevant, adaptive to scientific developments, and compliant with strict laboratory standard operating procedures.

To align the substance and methodology of the practicum modules, the activity involved expert speakers from educational laboratories within Udayana University who have successfully prepared, managed, and implemented laboratory activities in accordance with national and international quality standards. The presence of these experts was expected to provide valuable references and an ideal roadmap for laboratory management.

In addition to the expert speakers, the forum was also supported by the active participation of all Heads of Laboratories within the Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University. Their involvement was essential in absorbing the presented materials and synchronizing practicum instruments within their respective work units.

The final session featured a panel discussion with five competent speakers from various scientific backgrounds and study programs. The speakers included Ida Bagus Nyoman Putra Dwija, S.Si., M.Biotech., Ph.D. from the Educational Laboratory, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, who shared insights on the standardization of biological and medical laboratory management; Dr. Ir. A.A. Istri Kusumadewi, M.Si. from the Agroecotechnology Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University, who highlighted the integration of field research into module development; and Dr. Khamdan Khalimi, S.P., M.Si. from the Agroecotechnology Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University, who presented the importance of methodological validity in agricultural practicum activities.

Other speakers included I Gede Made Artha Sudewa Wijaya, S.P., M.Agb. from the Agribusiness Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University, who discussed the development of practicum instruments based on data analysis and agricultural business management; and Anak Agung Keswari Krisnandika, S.P., M.Si. from the Landscape Architecture Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University, who reviewed the technical preparation of modules for traditional garden practicum, studio practicum, site planning, and landscape engineering.

The presentations and module review sessions served as a strategic effort to accelerate the improvement of academic documents and practicum modules within the Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University. Through this standardization process, students are expected to gain more structured, applicable, and competitive laboratory learning experiences.

With the completion of this final session, the Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University, reaffirmed its commitment to producing graduates who are not only theoretically competent but also equipped with practical, tactical, and adaptive skills required by industry and the global research community.
