Guest Lecture Biotechnology Approach in Plant Development
On Friday, October 7, 2022, the Masters Study Program in Agroecotechnology, Agricultural Bitechnology Study Program and Masters Study Program in Dry Land Agriculture, Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University in collaboration with National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan, Academia Sinica Agricultural Biotechnology Research Center Biotechnology Center in Southern Taiwan and the Institute Bogor Agriculture held a Guest Lecture on Biotechnology Approach in Plant Development. The activity, which was attended by lecturers and students, as well as related offices from Bali and outside Bali, was opened directly by the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University.
The event, which was held in the Senate Meeting Room of the Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University and virtually through this webex, presented three speakers, namely Prof. Masaru Ohme-Takagi from National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan, Prof. Ming-Tsair Chan of the Academia Sinica Agricultural Biotechnology Research Center Biotechnology Center in Southern Taiwan and Dr. Dewi Sukma from Bogor Agricultural University. Prof. Masaru Ohme-Takagi presented material on how to manipulate plant properties using biotechnological techniques, while Prof. Ming-Tsair Chan brought material on the process of manipulating cells for plant improvement through genetic transformation methods. While Dr. Dewi Sukma brought material about the biotechnological approach to marigold plant breeding. The Guest Lecture activity, which was guided by I Putu Sudiarta, Ph.D, was interactive, marked by the number of enthusiastic participants and asking questions to the resource persons. The Guest Lecture event closed with the handing over of souvenir plaques and certificates to the speakers.
