Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University, and Meiji University Hold International Education Program 2025
Jimbaran, September 1–4, 2025 – To commemorate the 58th anniversary of the Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University, and the 47th anniversary of the Faculty of Agriculture (BKFP), the Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University (FP Unud) held an international event titled "Udayana University–Meiji University International Education Program 2025." This program is a collaboration between the Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University, and the School of Agriculture, Meiji University, Japan. The four-day event, from September 1 to 4, 2025, featured seminars, field trips, community service activities, and student presentations.
The first day (September 1, 2025), began with an academic seminar held in the 3rd-floor auditorium of the Faculty of Agriculture Building, Bukit Jimbaran Campus. The seminar, themed "Innovative Approaches to Support Sustainable Agriculture," featured Dr. The seminar was attended by Prof. Fumitaka Shiotsu, and Prof. Dr. Dewa Ngurah Suprapta, M.Sc., from Udayana University. The seminar served as a forum for exchanging knowledge and experiences regarding innovation strategies to support sustainable agriculture.
The second day (September 2, 2025) included a field trip to the Bedugul area. During this visit, participants gained knowledge about the agricultural system in the region and learned about the close relationship between local agricultural practices and the Ulun Danu Beratan Temple.
On the third day (September 3, 2025), the activity continued with a field trip to Jatiluwih and Subak Mangesta, Tabanan. In addition to learning about the traditional subak-based agricultural system, which has been recognized by UNESCO as a world cultural heritage, participants also engaged in community service activities with local farmers.
The final day (September 4, 2025) concluded with a student presentation session held in the 3rd Floor Hall of the Faculty of Agriculture, Bukit Jimbaran Campus. Meiji University and Udayana University students were divided into small groups, each consisting of two Meiji University students and two FP Unud students. They presented their observations regarding the agricultural system in Bali and compared it with the agricultural system in Japan. Through this activity, the Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University hopes to forge closer academic cooperation with Meiji University, while strengthening the internationalization of educational programs in the field of agriculture. This program is also expected to broaden students' horizons, enrich cross-cultural experiences, and encourage the birth of innovations that support sustainable agriculture.
