Hiroshima University Explores Collaboration with the Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University in the Tri Dharma Sector of Higher Education through the 3+1 Program

Denpasar, 27 June 2024 - Hiroshima University, Japan, through the Indonesian Alumni Association, plans to collaborate with the Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University. This meeting took place on Thursday, 27 June 2024, from 09.00 to 11.00 WITA in the Senate Meeting Room, Agrocomplex Building, Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University, Denpasar, Bali.


The meeting was attended by Dr. Gusti Ngurah Alit Susanta Wirya, S.P., M.Agr (Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Unud), I Putu Sudiarta, S.P., M.Si., Ph.D. (Deputy Dean I), Prof. Dr. Ir. I Gede Putu Wirawan, M.Sc (Chair of the Genetic Resources and Molecular Biology Laboratory), and Prof. Dr. Ir. Dewa Ngurah Suprapta, M.Sc (Chair of the Biopesticide Laboratory). From Hiroshima University there were Teruo Maeda, Ph.D (International Office Professor Emeritus) and Abe Eiko Juliana (Indonesian Alumni Association).


The meeting discussed the 3+1 Program, which allows foreign students to complete their final year of study at Hiroshima University starting in September. This program aims to strengthen academic and research collaboration between the two universities through guest lecturer activities and international seminars as well as collaborative research.


The importance of signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was also discussed to strengthen this collaboration. It is hoped that the MoU will open up opportunities for students and lecturers from both universities to exchange knowledge and experience, thereby supporting the development of science and technology in the agricultural sector.


This meeting marked the beginning of close collaboration between Hiroshima University and Udayana University. Both parties are optimistic that this collaboration will bring great benefits to the advancement of agricultural education and research, as well as strengthening international academic relations between Indonesia and Japan.
