Discussion of the Unud FP Cooperation Agenda with the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Forestry of Timor Leste

Located in the Meeting Room of the Faculty of Agriculture, Bukit Jimbaran Campus, representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Forestry of Timor Leste were received directly by the Dean of FP Unud on Thursday, April 4 2024. The meeting was also attended by the WD for Academic Affairs and the FP Unud Research Team. discussing the agenda for research collaboration which is planned to be implemented throughout 2024 which includes Land Suitability Evaluation and Regional Potential Mapping for Agricultural Commodity Development in Timor Leste.

Representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Forestry of Timor Leste consisting of Mr. Cesar Da Cruz (National Director of Research and Statistics-MAPPF), Ms. Maria Natalice (National Director of Administration and Finance-MAPPF) and Mr. Celestino Moreira (Head of the Department of Soil Research and Plant Nutrition-MAPPF) stated that the purpose of their visit was to strengthen plans for cooperation in the field of research. "Timor Leste is preparing to face challenges in 2030 which focus on increasing the productivity of agricultural, livestock and fisheries production, so we decided to collaborate with FP Unud to facilitate research activities regarding mapping the potential of the Timor Leste region," said Da Cruz.

Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Unud Dr. Gusti Ngurah Alit Susanta Wirya, S.P., M.Agr. welcomes this research collaboration plan and is grateful for the trust that has been given. Susanta Wirya also hopes that this research can be realized soon and asked the research team headed by Prof. Dr. Ir. Ni Made Trigunasih, M.P. work as best as possible to obtain the desired and expected results.
